Peace through documentary truth

Mission & method.

A calm public home for archival study, fraternal history, documentary publishing, and the careful reconstruction of inherited traditions.

The Registers of Hérédom™ preserves records, publishes documentary editions, and supports source-led historical inquiry. The work begins with the surviving witness: what it is, when it was produced, where it is held, how it reached its present form, and what it can reasonably establish.

Archives should be witnesses, not weapons.

Disputed histories are often inherited as finished arguments. Our method reopens the record. It distinguishes a dated source from a later memory, an institutional act from a retrospective claim, a catalog description from the document itself, and a diplomatic transcription from editorial interpretation.

I

Preserve the record

Collect, cite, and contextualize primary and near-primary witnesses so later readers can examine the evidence directly.

II

Let the source speak

Present original language, spelling, structure, and provenance before introducing a modern conclusion.

III

Seek peace without erasure

Historical dignity does not require any tradition to disappear; it requires disciplined claims and honest attention to the record.

Editorial principles

  • Accuracy: dates, names, titles, shelf marks, and quoted language are checked against the best available witness.
  • Transparency: transcription, translation, editorial completion, and interpretive commentary are identified as different layers.
  • Restraint: absence of evidence is not converted into proof, and ambiguity is reported as ambiguity.
  • Context: documents are read within the institutions, geographies, languages, and disputes that produced them.
  • Dignity: criticism is directed toward evidence and argument, not toward the inherent worth of individuals or communities.
